Hey everyone!

As you probably guessed by the captivating title of this project, this is just a prototype demo of a Turn-Based Battle System.

Things to try in this demo:

  • Defeat the Enemy AI
  • Right-Click on the Player UI box to display your active unit's stats.
  • All buttons can be Right-Clicked to show extra info.
  • Use Items to Heal.
  • Use Equipment to boost stats.
  • Go to the Customize Menu to try assigning items to a character's Battle Inventory.  Just drag and drop!

It's inspired by RPGs like Pokemon.  The mechs in the game are kind of irrelevant since they're just placeholders.  The same goes for the moves.

There is a death animation. So it's not totally static. 

Anyway, the purpose of this to test the functionality.  The demo is 3D but it could easily be used in 2D.  

I don't really have a roadmap, but here's what to expect in the future:

  • Unit Swapping
    • Player and AI can swap active unit with others in the party
  • Multiple Opponents
    • Possibility for 1 v 2,  and 2 v 2 Battles.
      • Maybe even Free-for-all Style.
    • The unit will be able to choose a target to attack.
    • Moves will be able to target all/multiple units.
  • Animations?!
    • I might add some just to make it more entertaining to work on.
  • Sound Effects?!
    • I'll probably add this for the same reason as the animations.
