This is one of the first projects made with the GameDevHQ courses.

Since I finished this project in 2020, I've used it to try out things I've learned.  Sometimes the game broke, but fixing it was a learning experience, too.

Here are a few things I learned in this project:

  • Prototyping with primitives in Unity
  • Instantiating objects at required positions
  • Collisions, Tags, and Layers in Unity
  • Object Pooling
  • Player input
  • Non-player behaviors
  • Basic UI
  • Code optimization

I've come a long way in the time since I made this in the summer of 2020.

Along the way, I used this project to try out new things I learned.  Nothing really broke the game until I upgraded it to Unity2020.  I managed to fix most of the issues because I just didn't want to have a broken game.

There are still and few bugs, but overall, it does what it's supposed to.

You can try it out, then try out my Nova Star project and hopefully see a difference.
